Background
Band on the Wall is one of the UK's most iconic live music venues and a registered charity with a rich cultural heritage at the heart of Manchester's music scene. As part of a campaign to reconnect with audiences, I created the campaign name, brand identity, creative direction, visual styling, photography, campaign assets and promotional materials. The aim was to develop a distinctive arts marketing campaign that celebrated the venue's personality while encouraging people to rediscover the joy of live music.

The creative challenge
Research revealed that many people aged 50 and over had gradually stopped enjoying Manchester's nightlife. Confidence, family commitments and simply falling out of the habit meant an audience who once lived for live music and late nights had drifted away. The challenge was to create a memorable campaign that would reconnect this generation with Band on the Wall, inspire them to return and do so with warmth, humour and authenticity rather than nostalgia alone.
